Sore throat remedies please!!!

Mix one teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a cup of warm milk and chug it. Your throat will burn like crazy for about a minute, but once the burning ends there will be no more sore throat. Seriously. This works.

Gargle with a mixture of apple cider vinegar, [SIZE=-1]cayenne pepper, and salt.
Guaranteed to cure you.

I highly suggest you visit your doctor.
a sore throat can be a Sx of something more serious.

I've had sore throat from colds, sinus draining and ears draining.
you could have strep, mono or something even more serious

I normally get a sore throat for the few days of a cold. If it doesn't let up by tomorrow evening I will go in.

Gargle hydrogen peroxide for about 30 seconds, works like a charm.

EDIT: DO NOT SWALLOW, unless you want the puke your guts out.

That sounds incredibly risky lol

I was always told to stay away from dairy when sick so this is something for me to look into. Thanks pearl

I've seen this recipe before & hear it works really really well mostly because of the apple cider vinegar, that seems to pop up in a lot of home remedies. :)

Ah...if only I had medical insurance.

My throat seems to be getting better with each passing hour so I'm hopeful that it will be gone by tomorrow. I've gargled salt water, drank garlic juice, about drowned myself in orange juice and practically singed my nose hairs with spice. Thank you all so much for the ideas, some that have worked the best today are getting written down for future reference. You guys are awesome!

It's really not, it works really good lol. it does taste really bad thow.

That recipe is basically hot sauce....lol.
I do make my own hot sauce that is vinegar based with mainly Chiltepin, Pequin and Serrano peppers. VERY hot and spicy. It also cures sore throats. ;)

oh okay, I just noticed they use apple cider vinegar a lot in home remedies :)

I've been adding srarchi? hot sauce on everything and although it doesn't specify which peppers it uses it is HOT HOT HOT ( at least for me ) and I find that the burn of the sauce feels gooood. Thank you for your recipe slappy, very kind of you!

mmm, sriracha is good stuff! We call it "rooster" because of the picture on the bottle.

I hope you've continued to improve! I've had a scratchy/sore throat off & on for the last couple weeks, but not as bad as you... But that honey lemon tea sounds great!

We have a snack food here called "li hing mui" which is a Chinese dried/preserved plum, very salty & slightly sweet - it is my go-to remedy for a sore throat.

Sriracha that's the stuff lol, I kinda screwed the spelling on that one huh?

That preserved plum sounds delicious, all we have that is close to that are those Sunsweet Ones, those are soooooooooo good!

Phenol oral anesthetic spray, such as Chloraseptic spray. There are other brands.

Ignore any reference to Strep unless diagnosed by a physician. If you should happen to be diagnosed with it, follow your medical providers instructions.

Most bad sore throats are caused by sinus dripping or drainage.
A neti pot can help with that.
