Starting up Saltwater! Woo!

 Thats the fun of it though. A lot of the micro organisms on the rock help with the cycle and everything but sometimes you get bad things :( lol.

I'm getting a free 4ft tank and stand! :D Although I have no room for it :( lol
I'm sure I could make room for it :grinno:

That's AWESOME, wish I could get a deal like that!!!!

Have you been able to catch those shrimp? Sounds like maybe you have a use for that tank (it can be your "hitch hiker tank! LOL

Nah they are soo quick. Awell.

I woke up to find brownish algea on my substrate :( any ideas?

Take the mantis to your LFS. Many people want them and you should get some credit.

The brown algae is most likely diatoms (not an algae). The brown you see are the frustules of the diatom. Your will likely see these die off and may see them reoccur a couple time in the first 6 months or so. Higher flow helps keep them suspended. There food source is silica which will eventually be depleted (assuming you are not adding it) to the point they can't sustain their numbers.

Good luck catching the mantis.

Ok, Hay...maybe this will help.

Turn up your volume and play this while trying to catch the shrimp. I think this would be a good shrimp catching song!!!

Okay im a retard :( lol. They are just big copepods... Sigh, what a noon :P awell.

Got the fuge setup with LR and macro algea. Looks good actually. I'm also running a carbon pad and phosphate pad cut to size :)

Also bought 1.5kg more rock with favia coral on it. It has this cool creature on it. It looks like eyelids and closes really quick if I go anywhere near it. Pics to come!!!
