day 9 of qt tank cycle and ammonia at 1 ppm and nitrite at .25 ppm

water has a very slight haze to it.

as for main tank was thinking of trying a ati purple+ with 3 ati blue+

basically replacing the aqua blue with the purple+

reason being is the purple plus is supposed to be a full spectrum with tint of red and purple hue to make the purple and red pop in the tank and i plan on having a flame angel and black cap basslet, so in essance that should add to their coloration.

any input on this light combo?

should i just stay at my:

I just replaced the ABS with another Blue+ and although its more blue than I want it's better. I did run a UVL Superactinic a while back and it was nice. The UVL is not as pink as the purple+ or KZ figi purple but it does enhance the reds. The purple+ is the highest PAR of the 3 bulbs but you don't really need to worry about PAR with your light and shallow tank. Unless I was to do a 6 bulb T5, I don't think i will put another ABS on my tank.

so are you running 4 all blue+?

i put the aqua as the 3rd bulb back today to see, but it still has a tad too much white for me where i think all 4 blue+ would be too much blue for me.

not sure then, maybe do:
blue+
blue+
blue+
purple+ or UVL super?
 
They do sell bulbs that are 75/25s and 454s and various mixes like that (UV makes them) so if you want just a little white without going an entire 10k bulb you could go that route. I love the blue look myself, but even I couldn't do that combo (3 Blue+ and a Purple+)
 
Yep, 4 blue+ and my blue panorama LED bar :). Trying to save enough to get a LED before I have to replace the bulbs :). Still have an ABS that is only a couple months old.

The 3xblue+ and UVL actually looked pretty good to me.

i am not sure the % of white the aquablue special has, but i know it has some. may online search some and see what i can come up with.

i love the blue look, but i can already see that it will take some of the red coloration from the fish, hence me trying to find a good combo, but blue is a cool look for sure.
 
been 15 days for the dr tim bacteria and am still at .50 ammonia and .25 nitrites, so it has been taking a little longer than i thought.

benson i added 3 capfulls of the dr tim stuff as it said to add 2 caps per 10 gallons and i added 1 for good luck.

how much did you add?

wondering if it is taking longer because i am only using the cermic rings as it is a qt and no rock.
