100s of babies have been released into my tank but only 1 was ever been seen beyond release and it didn't last long! Mainganos are well known fry eaters and my skunk loaches may have something to do with that too. It is good population control although I try not to think about it. :(

Anyone heard of labidochromis Zebra Lundo?
I think it might be another name for Labidochromis Chisumulae. Someone on my local forum offered me some of these guys instead of socolfi. They are closely related to yellow labs and don't seem to get very big. From most of the pictures I'm finding online it looks like females are white male have a blue sheen with some faint stripes mostly along the top.
Opinions?

could be a nice alternative. they are much smaller, so you could stock a little heavier. The only thing that worries me is the males intense barring could cause some conflict with the dem, but that seems to only be when spawning. Ive read up and they seem to be an underutilized mbuna. being smaller is always good too. If they look great in person and the price is right, I say if you want to try it out, go for it. If nothing else, its a new experience.

I kept Lundu's with Saulosi in a 55gal all was great but the dominant Lundu male was a punk towards less dominant males but yeah they are great fish just hard to come by i would recommend them..

Here are a few photos of my old Lundu's

Whoa, the males are nice but I really like the females. Good luck with getting those guys!

Very nice. I just wanted to add about the albino socolofi. I caught the 3 that I had roaming my 40g tank, and the one that had been separated. I vented them and measured. They are all 3 inches, and I have 1 male, 3 female. I added them to my 55g and nobody bothered them except one fish. My male maingano. He is a nasty bugger, but all he normally does is chase for a second. He made it his mission to chase and attack all 4 of the arrivals. I had all 4 in corners from his onslaught. I had enough and caught the maingano to separate him. Now that I have, the albinos are fighting amongst themselves, and the male is trying to claim the middle of my tank. He is chasing away all comers, including 4 inch female msobo, 3-4 inch red zebras, and he even tried for a second to intimidate my 5 inch f1 msobo male. that didnt go over too well. His mouth is big enough to cause major damage... Anyway, I am realizing these guys are tough little sobs. IDK what my maingano's issue is, but I am hoping taking him out for a few hours helps, because he hates them with a passion...

Well its always going to be who beats the crap out of who's next with Mbuna thats why its a good thing to max the crap out of your fish load when it comes to these guys..

Ya, I am maxed out. Even without the albinos I am pretty fully stocked. my stocklist is in the sig...my tank has very little aggression. he just went nuts with them. I added them because I added a ton of juvies to my 40g tank. I needed the albinos gone.

Those lundu are cool. u have any other pics of them?
