Dont worry, you guys havent scared me away...starting is always the toughest part as there is so much to learn. I moved the gourami into her own tank but i think i will take her back. The reason I bought her is b/c the male gourami was picking on the female and I wanted to spread the aggression around. I took 2 mollies back to the fish store just now so thats two less fish in the tank and the other 2 should be ready to go back in about a week. In my research about the zig zag eel and from what the LFS told me, they only get to be about 7 inches long, even smaller then the peacock eels.
As for the tank...I've had the tank for 3 months now, I learned about cycling from this website, theres alot of great information here. I used BioSpira and have been adding fish slowly. It has a fair number of plants in it and the problem with the ammonia is only recent as of this week.
I guess I just need to admit that Ive maxed out my bioload and its time to get another tank.
As for my gourami, she was originally swimming fine and when I was watching the tank last night she was doing fine as well. So far she looks fine, no buldging eyes, no bloating, no funny spots. I will continue to keep an eye on her. Thanks for all your input and advice and I will definatly check out those stickies.
