Students Kept Under Surveillance

What?!? Whats next?! Im in 7th grade and if our school got this system it would NOT be liked by ANY parent. I think that there has to be a law somwhere preventing the school from doing this. You can aslo tell that the princpal of the school dosent but the kids first.
On eday a really smart kid will come along and find a way to disable the chip in the card. I would like to see what the school says :troll: :idea2: :rant:

While this is not my opinion, I can recall what our schools said when I went. 1. kids do not have the rights and civil liberties that adults do. 2. the school rules must be abided by in order to attend. I know its harsh, but thats how it is. Digest this: our constitution guarentees the right to free speach, but that doesn't mean a DMV employee has to help you if you are cussing and insulting them. Try it, you will be told to leave or escorted off the property if needed. Same thing goes for the school. You have the right to say" I don't want my kid being tracked like an animal!!!!

I am one of those that agrees that children don't have the same rights as adults. Its silly to even think that they should. But what bothers me is when the schools say pregnant teens do have the right be to get an abortion without parental notification.
Again I'm not posting my opinion, but... Some countries do not have public schools. If you can't afford to go to school, you do not get an education. I know we are not a 3rd world country, but we are taking "free" public schools for granted if we try to tell them what rules they can and cannot enforce. Where I went to school(I think this is the case in most public schools) they loose money if a kid was an unexcused absence.125gJoe said:

But the tags can be taken off. There are better answers to this. Iv seen a watch that lets parents track their kids, why not just use that?
the quote marks were for that purpose, "free" public schools aren't free. but schools still loose money when kids cut class, and this would help cut back on those losses. I wish to stress that these are just words, not neccisarily my oppinion. The problems with our schools are many and multi-dimensional, and for me to go into my feelings on that would take weeks.....Leopardess said:
