Sand all the way :D. Easier to mainain, IMO, and more pleasing to the eye.

whats Azoo?

I dont mean to HJ this thread but it seemed to go downhill a bit anyways. Maybe i could add a question that concerns gravel/ sand:

Is flourite corycat safe ? (wearing out their barbels etc)

I like sand better if there are fish that like to bury. In case of messy fish (golfish, ie) I'da rather use gravel.

I choose my substrate thinking on the what the fish may need.

By the way it looks, I vote for sand.

oh!! Typo!!!! Sorry... No I dont keep men in the tank too messy

I remeber this SouthPark episode where Cartman and Stan (¿?) set up a "Sea Men" tank, and the tank inhabitants start a war and break the tank.

Just a comment. :joe:

Oh the sea monkey episode, I remember that one. you have an awsome tank, thats somthing I always wanted to do, I assume it's a custom tank?

Gravel for me, but preferably on the smallish side. Having had poor to very bad experiences with sand, never again in my tanks. I do not like H2S, methane, iron precipitation, nor anything else along that line.

hmmm big words again.. ;)
I agree, I do not use sand for freshwater, unless I have my MTS in there. I will use it with less than a 1/4 of an inch in my het tanks. But other than that, no way. I prefer using tiny grain gravel, a flint stone gravel. I also use Flourite and a few other products and if I am breeding, I use nothing but the bare bottom.
yep, bare bottom tanks. :) I wouldnt dare use gravel in my Red Ear Slider tank.
