Suggestions for buying poly filter floss or a substitute?

ok, I just cleaned my AC110

sponge cut in 1/2 long wise
wally poly (including blocking the panel's mid grid holes)
scrubbies
ceramic rings
wally poly to block the panel's edges since it is not seal tight against the filter box
wally poly at the top part of the panel - the overflow cut out under the handle

will see how it goes.

btw#2 - the wally poly is much softer than cotton balls, easy to tear off, so no need for scissors since there are no layering, just a big clump of poly! so can use as much & as small a piece as necessary. it's more akin to stuffing than padding.

btw - I experimented with sponge scrubbie filter floss bio media. found the filter floss was not as dirty so the scrubbie was fine enough to catch more smaller debris.

but this time I reversed the scrubbie & the poly - will post results next cleaning!

thks all for this great tip-a-roo!!

In calif where i shop at wally world the brand name is MORNING GLORY HIGH LOFT QUILTERS POLYESTER BATTING i think the name varies depending where you live in the USA but it is the same stuff just different name on the bag. and the bag is green and white, its made by Carpenter Co. in Taylor, Texas

I use quilting batting and get it from Wallyworld-it's pretty cheap and it goes a long way.

There is a bio-degradable version that is landfill safe and cost only a fraction more. When it is on sale I snatch up as much as possible.

I would love to know the brand that is bio-degradable. Maybe I'll be able to compost it at home to keep out of the landfill.

Hi,

I have 2 old large pillows filled with poly floss but I do not know if the floss is safe to use. I looked on the labels and it says "filling: 100% polyester".

don't use if in your used pillows, mighty micro mites! see the pic of wally poly in green bag. it's very economical!
