I'm using the supernaturals white in my blackwater tank. It's got a really really really fine grain size, much smaller than I was expecting, but I must say it looks really awesome with the dark driftwood and black background. The way the reddish water reflects off of it also looks great. Pool filter sand scares me because I was once told that it's suitability for pool filters was because of it's sharp edges and particular shape (can't back that up though). Didn't have much of a problem with clouding myself...

Good video. I leave my large siphon tube connected, though and rarely lose more than a half teaspoonful of sand when I vac. Because sand shows dirt very easily, with 99% of it staying on the very top of the sand, in some ways it's easier to keep clean than gravel, where dirt can fall between the stones and get trapped. I also use pool filter sand, for its low cloudiness, ready-washed condition and weight (not too fine).

I too leave the large tube on my Python when I vac my sand....but the video does give everyone a general idea on how to do it. For the stubburn stuff that doesnt want to suck right up you can usually just wave the end of the tube alittle over that spot and the added water movement will usually be enough to stir it off the bottom then you can vac it out.
