SW Noob needing help!

How does this stocking list look?
1-2 fuzzy dwarf lion fish
1 voliton lion fish
1 snowflake moray eel

I honestly have no idea, but I'm guessing that 3 lion fish is too much. I would say one is your only option, unless you can get a pair, idk if they even come in pairs. Plus live aquaria says the volitan needs a 120. Stick with the fuzzy dwarf. You could probably add a foxface lo or something like that as well.

People keep pairs of fuzzy dwarf lion fish in a 55, a 75 will give extra room for them and the eel. My tank had weird Demensions, it is 22 inches wide! That's plenty of room for a 14 inch lion fish to swim. I guess it's a pair of fuzzy dwarfs or 1 volitan. (I'm considering 1 Picasso triggerfish and some damsels and maybe a tang) But no mater what I'm getting a snowflake moray eel! They are adorable!

How long is the tank? 4 ft? Tangs and triggers need a longer tank. Damsels would be ok I would think, at least most are cheap.

Yeah it's 4ft, I'm fine if I can't get triggers. A volitan now that I look at the situation should be fine, people do the calculations on Demensions not gallons generaly. Most 75's aren't 24 inches wide. I think this problem has come up with oscars before in the FW section before. 24 inches lets the lion have room and the eel has room too.

I still would not keep a large lionfish in a 75 gallon. It's not a matter of fitting one it's a matter of bioload. Predatory fish make a lot of waste and can fowl up a tank quickly. I would stick with a couple dwarf lions and the eel and see how the bioload is at that point. You want to take it SLOW.

i think you kinda answered your own question there.... :)

but let me cast one more vote against a volitan lion in a 75, no matter what the dimensions. They grow fast and top out at 15 inches long. Aside from a life where it can swim just one or two body lengths before having to turn around (this is a creature designed to roam in an ocean, remember) i would think it would look ridiculous to an observer (you). Kinda like driving around in your car with an elephant in the back seat. Yeah maybe the car can haul it but it's gonna be a bit uncomfortable for the other passengers. It's just out of proportion.

And then there's the poop issue mentioned above....it's your tank, your call. But think about it some more, ok?
