Any of you know where I can get some NATIVE decent sized tadpoles for my pond in long beach?

You do mean Long Beach, CA, right? I believe Cali law allows you to go collect a few specimens yourself; just familiarize yourself with the various local tadpoles first to be sure you don't bring home an endangered species or one of your established non-natives, such as bullfrogs or ACFs.

As far as sellers of tadpoles, I have no idea. Maybe try the classifieds at www.kingsnake.com

I just need to catch some frog tadpoles that will become frogs that grow to about 6 inches. And yes, I do live in long beach, california. I just need you uys to tell me where I can find tadpoles.

Ponds, fountains, duck ponds, pond supply stores, etc. Any frog that would grow to be 6 inches will need a large territory, a big tank. Or you could do what I did and raise them until they hopped out of the water and where able to turn into a tiny adult frog and let them go where you found them. As long as the tadpole is native and they have not been sick at all, I would think it would be fine.

There are no native 6" long frogs in your area. American Bullfrogs are the only frog that large around you, and they are invasive exotics.

The (relatively) large native frogs you have are ranids and bufonids. Ranid larvae are usually some shade of green and have eyes that are dorsal (situated on top of the head); they also get pretty big. The bullfrog is a ranid, as well as some of your natives; I don't know enough about western frogs to tell you how to distinguish them. Bufonid (true toad) tadpoles are small and dark, and also have dorsal eyes. I doubt you'll find any now, as they don't remain tadpoles long and I believe most of your native toads are spring-breeders.

Alot of the frogs that live here breed year round, I think.
And davidfbt, there are no hardware stores that sell native tadpoles near me.
I was looking for a frog that would be big enough so I could see it from a few feet away that also wouldn't get eaten by my goldfish.
If leopard frogs live in california, I'll get them.

K, I'll get a goldfish to cycle it.
Or if possible, I'll get crayfish to cycle it.
I also have a small, unfiltered, tank full of a bunch of dead, decomposed, anachris.
Is it likely to have bacteria to cycle my pond?

Well, which parks in long beach california are likely to have frogs? please tell me kthanxbai.
