Yah I know, it made me feel horrible about myself

I cried as well. I work in a vet clinic and it horrifies me how people can treat animals.

this too is what i live my life after, and i seem to get the same result as ugly,..

but at least i have never treated animals that way,.. i see the real beauty in God's love thru creatures,.
and have lived among those that treat others as everyone in this story,.

it tears at my heart, as do all meaness of people,.. this world i very ugly in the bad sence of the word,..

Honestly had I seen this cat myself..I would have taken it to the vet to check for rabies, if it was clean I would have cleaned it up and taken it in.

My aunt had a horse of a tomcat named Chandler who recently passed. Chandler was the family mascot who was a former trash-eating stray who had diabetes and a slew of health problems like kidneys that loved to fail every couple months. He was a sad sight when he clammered up to her house one day, he hit the jackpot because he picked a house that would give him a chance. Chandler had 1 1/4 ears, not 2. He had only 3 teeth. He was around 20 lbs from all the steroids he was on. Chandler took 4 pills and 3 insulin shots daily. He usually was rushed to the vet once every few months near death in a seizure. He was a very, very expensive cat.

This went on for years, and he always battled back. Never had I met a cat that loved life as much as him. Chandler would let the 2 yorkies my aunt had tug on his ears(what were left of them) and his tail and never complain. He let all the cousins and grandkids haul him around wherever the wanted, couldnt care less what he was doing as long as he was with people. Chandler loved to come outside by the lake with people and lay in the grass, basking in the sun - never trying to run away or eat grass, just relaxing.

Chandler finally had a seizure that did him in a few months back. He died in my uncles arms as they were rushing into the car to head to the 24 hour vet as they had done countless times before. The place is not the same without him, and never has anything influenced my opinion on what really matters in life more than that cat who wandered up to her house on day did. His favorite spot is still there, and will probably always remain where it is. The hammock that caught the morning sun on a screened-in porch looking out over the lake sits empty now though.

Thanks for sharing the story
