Hey everyone,

Well this is my african cichlid lake tang tank :) I've set it up over the last 2 months or so.

It's a 30 gallon.

Two days ago I got its first fish (besides the BN). I got a trio of Daffidol princess cichlids (juvies) (3-4cm) and a pair of mature J. Dickfeldi (6-7cm). I am currently waiting on a pair of german lupei's (orange form) :)

In it I have an anubias, an amazonicus (which is doing great) and some java ferns which are melting. The hardness is around 250ppm. pH is about 8.1 due to the limestone rock on the left :) The driftwood doesnt seem to have much affect on the pH and i like the look of it and my BN likes it :D

I understand the tank is a bit small but I've tried to select fish that won't grow too fast or big...with that been said I am expecting to set-up a larger cichlid tank (55-75g) in about a year :)

So tell me what you think. Thanks!

Nice tank, although I'm concerned about the mix...especially once everyone gets into the breeding mindset which could happen at any moment. Definitely set up the larger tank sooner rather than later, although with the "daffodils" it probably wont make much difference with any amount of space.

Yeah I understand. Thanks for pointing it out :) I don't think the princesses will breed for a little while due to their size but there is plenty of hiding spaces so hopefully it will be okay for a while :)

Nice tank.

I don't know much about cichlids, but that is a great looking tank!! What is that fish in the 4th picture at the top of the rocks? It's really pretty!!!

Thanks :) they are princess cichlids. They have great personalities. And beautiful.

The tank looks great. I love the layout. Hopefully your princesses will hold off on breeding though! They're tough little buggers.
