can i trust my tangs with my plants or will they eat them. and also, will multies eat plants???

Which tangs are you talking about?

In general, I don't think tangs are known to eat plants. I'm not experts in tangs but at least my Julidochromis and L Steppersi (Pearl Occelatus) are not interested in plants at all.

The only fish that are Tangs that ever touched any of my plants was the Frontosa they didn't care for them and just wanted to shred them not eat them so you should be fine stick with the self attaching plants like anubias and javas and you will be fine..

You know what pappy man its scary but i believe we think alike buddy its all good hhehehe..

I had not a one touch my plants... N. Tretocephalus, N. Sexfasciatus, A. Calvus, N Brichardi, J. Transcriptus. None of them dug up or ate a single plant. I used to have quite a few plants in the 55 setup, I'd say go for it. Crinum, Vallisneria, Anubias are all good hard-water plants.

or well if i put the plants in my 55g. it will porbly just be frogbit/rr, java moss, java fern (needle leaf and windolov)

I can't get java moss to grow, but I have swords in my tanks that are out of control huge. I bought one or two awhile ago and have split them a ton of times. Just two days agao I gave away 8-6" plants I split off the other two which are still huge. I am not a fan of the plants in the tanks though. I like them for sucking up excess nutrients, but I do not like the look in the biotype. just my personal preference.

Strange how everyone's experiences are different. I can't grow moss or swords in the Tang tank. Vallisneria occurs in the lake, though generally not where most of our fish come from.
