Tank crashed...

having the same reading of nitrates for 1 day is by no means stable......

there is no guarantee of a pairing up of shrimp and goby.

They were paired at the LFS. However, I don't think they have bumped into eachother yet, so we'll have to see.

Ouch, it burns!

No changes in any parameters still. Water's still clear. Looks good for now, I'll monitor until I have to leave tomorrow, then it'll be on it's own for 2 days. :(

Well, the coral I had in before is still doing okay (didn't even realize it was coral until now).

I'm gonna leave it alone from now on other than weekly water changes.

Not sure why the PH in my tank is so acidic

Because there's nothing to buffer it. 10lbs LR won't do this.

Also, the nitrate spike is a symptom and not a cause, but I think we covered that.

Still normal parameters, my PH is around 8 now.

Going to do another water change later, and call it good for the week.

I added another 3 lbs of liverock today, PH is now steady at 8.3ish.

steady and stable are words that fit with longer periods of time than what you're using them with. I am glad your parameters are doing better, but I'd not use steady or stable until the readings are the same for close to a month or more.
