Tank fogging!!!!!

They should be fed every 2-3 days with about 2 grams of food which is about 4-5 small crickets or one 2 inch earthworm. (Fully streched out)

I think the reason why they don't go in the water is because they are scared that they might drown. You should put in a piece of driftwood, or create more land/water transition land. Look at the 20 gallon FBT vivarium in my signature to get an Idea of what they like. (Although I haven't updated it in about a month.

Oh, and you should be able to put in 1 FBT per 60 square inches of land in your tank.
The way to find out is that you find the area of your aquarium's footprint, divide it by 66 and the answer is how many FBT you can have on the tank. If you have an answer that ends in a decimal, round down to the nearest whole number. (I don't think you can cut a FBT in half if your answer ends in .5 :duh: )
This way is very accurate and has been succesful. Like putting 3 in a 10 gallon, or 5 in a 20 long.

But this only works in half land, half water tanks. But for you, I think you can have 1 more FBT in there because there isn't much horizontal land that they need.

If I were you, I would ditch the whole aquarium with fish thing and put in a real good FBT Vivarium.

would 5 or 6 FBTs b good 4 my 29 gallon tank w/5 gallons of water?

since i got them from petco, where they have a mainly land setup w/ a waterbowl i think tat they might just not be used to my type of setup
i will get the next set from petsmart where they have an almost all water setup

where could i get wax worms?
could i feed them meal worms?

what if i go on a week long vacation? do i have to get someone to feed them for me?
or can i just stuff em' up before i leave?

If you are leaving for a week, that is fine. I remember when I was irresponsible and I left them alone for up to 3 weeks. But now I feed them every 3 days, and they are nice and chubby.

NEVER feed mealworms to your FBTs! Their hard outer shell makes it hard for them to digest, and if enough are fed, they will block the FBT's intestines and will cause him/her to starve to death.

And only 3 FBTs until you change it to a more land than water vivarium.

they climb and hang out like on every level possible in my tank
so i think that i have enough room for 2 more at least

they need a place to rest their legs? if i just add a piece of driftwood in there, slightly under the water, with room to lay on would it be good?

I looked at your pictures again and saw that you may be able to squeeze 2 more in there. As for the driftwood, yes. I would add two 6 inch pieces though. They like to have a spot to hang out. You could also add some fake lily pads or real if you have the guts to do it.

I need to ask you this though, are the tips of the Fire-Bellied Toads' toes orange, yellow, or red? Or are they just brown and dull?

one of the frog has yellow toes and the other has red toes

does this have to do with their health??

No, Just to see if they were Oriental Fire-Bellied Toads or European Fire-Bellied Toads. Orientals have their toes colored the same as their bellies and most of them are green, while the Europeans have no coloring on the tips of their toes. The Europeans are always brown.

Oriental:

I forgot, If you add a ton of floating plants like frogbit or lilies or water lettuce, you could fit 7 of the guys in the tank. 5 because of the footprint of the tank pluss the water lilies and a bonus 2 for the background ledges.

ok well i was going to add salivina nataus in there which is a floating plant, it would cover most of the surface or the water
and if i can find a good looking, fake water lily then i will get one of those

and mine are definetly oriental toes=same color as bellie
But their backs are brown? i thought that you sed that orientals have green backs?

oh thank you

do you think that the plant that i mentioned would be good for the frogs? and not too messy?
