Tank for Christmas

oohh this isnt my first salt tank i have an aquapod 24g up and running thats been running for awhile i just dont talk about it much lol

and yes i know this is going to be tough but i am up for the challenge and i plan on keeping this tank lightly stocked and i think i have the finaly stocking set in stone in my head right now.

and is there a heater you would recommend for a tank this size

in a 5 to 7 gallon tank you can have 1 clown fish. nothing else i wouldnt even advise putting a shrimp in there but that IMO, its really hard to keep algae down because he probably had so much waste in the tank. daily water changes are probably irritating..

a 5 to 7 gallon is not gonna be the best choice for someone just starting but you seem like your researching so i hope it all goes okay for you! no bio wheel.. and get a better heater then a hydor mini heater.

I have to disagree I'm afraid. I wouldn't put a clownfish in a tank that small. I think the invert idea is good, but i wouldn't add so many snails as they're likely to starve. Have you considered sexy shrimp??? :)

i was skeptical even typing that ( i wouldnt put one in there) but ive seen it done in an 8 gal biocube... id just go with Harlequin Shrimp aftet the tank is established.. thatd be a cool *** tank

actually each of these snails eat somthing different. nassarius and detrivores, the dwarf cerith and astrea both eat algae so i may drop the dwarf cerith from my stocking plans

and yes you have read my mind i am planning on a trio of sexy shrimp and a small goby species i had the species picked out on the divers den on liveaquaria and i was hoping it wouldnt be sold by the time i got the tank cycled and ready for a fish but i checked last night and both of my possible choices had been sold already but oh well there will be more.

i like harlequin shrimp but i dont want to have to keep starfish around to feed it because that can get pretty pricey

LOL That's what has always put me off keeping them!!!

Dylan! Omygosh, seriously, I told you not to go around posting that everywhere.
My tank is way better now, just to let everyone know.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, I just had to tell him.
The idea sounds good.
