Tank Log: 55g All Crypts Riparium

I have started to shuffle things around in here. I took the opportunity to get a few specimen pictures. Here is one of the handsome and good-sized Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia.

Yeah I do. How short do you mean?

I'm thinking under 7"... Leafy stuff that would work in a third to half filled 11" tall tank. The Hibiscus Acetosella (I think) you sent a while back is a good example. It's branching out nicely, but staying short. The bacopa I have will work nice too, but I'm hoping to have a few plants that will spread out and fill some of the back wall with foliage while some mini pellia and HC grow in.

I have some C. wendtii 'Tropica' emersed plants which are real nice and tend to stay shorter. There is alo one that I purchased as C. undulata that is a very nice plant. There are a few others too.

Most of these emersed crypts require pretty high humidity, so you need to keep them in a tank with a canopy covering most of the top and hopefully with a heater too.

I remember now I also got a shot of the open spathe on this plant.

And here's another specimen picture.

I tore this tank down, then set it up again. Now it's at a local retail establishment. Here's a quick shot.

I added hardscape (rocks & driftwood) too after getting this picture. I'll come back with a couple more image files when I get them loaded.

That is a nice setup. What type of retail establishment? One that sell fish, or is this just a nice showpiece in a regular store front?

Thanks you guys. bigwave this is a garden center that sells lots of hydroponics stuff. They don't handle aquariums or fish, but this goes along pretty well with their other products. I used a T5 strip to light up the tank.

I got some fish back into here yesterday. They are still shy, but they will get to be more lively. Here's a quick shot of them cautiously going after a Hikari wafer.

Very nice Rip! I like the stand, a lot. I assume you made that from reading all the posts. Do you have any plans for that? I like the metal look, but probably needs to be a bit more sturdy for a filled aquarium?
