Tank mates dissapearing!!! Blood Parrots May Have Eaten Them

Man its a mystery, still no sign of the betta, ive checked the living room from top to bottom and no sign anywhere. I guess I will never know, I checked behind the stand and all the furniture to see if maybe she jumped and hopped around, I know in the wild they can puddle jump and last for some time out of water. Then again, I have almost no open space in top of tank for her to jump out. I have an Emperor 400 that is squeezed into opening for filter, and heater takes up all the room available in its opening.

Oh bro! what hav u done, mixed parrots witha betta, I definitely kno betta is eaten by them, but for the danios cant say!

there is no way that a betta could fit in their mouths, especally in a 3" blood parrot. the betta isnt just going to swim in its mouth, and the parrot would have to chase it, and even if it could catch the betta, it wouldnt be able to bite down

no, they arent fine. you just said that your blood parrots were skittish after you added some yellow labs.

they are not going to get to full size because you have so amny of them. they are all going to be stunted unless you get rid of most of your fish

I agree, it is just impossible for them to fit. After hearing you explain it, and taking some time to watch them, it isnt possible. Now what exactly happend will never be known.

Nope as all the other replies suggest, its just not possible for them to eat the betta. And the danios are just too fast, now if they died then the other fish may have eaten them. And the parrots show no sign of aggression, that was the biggest mystery to me. Trust me they are not worried about other fish.

I have 2 large BP's in my tank and they have been nothing but gental and even nurturing in behavior. mine are almost 7 inches long and their mouths are very small. :shark: i have small barbs in mine and no aggression ever. :dive2:

Thats a very nice tank, and yep my parrots are really becoming real pets, they have the best personality and they are spoiled rotten and love to be hand fed. I feed em two light feedings daily to keep their metabolism up and weight normal, but man they try to get me to feed em all day ! lol :)
