Tanks with Fake Plants

Actually Ive seen that picture before on MFK. The way it was done is there is a special water out that's called Magic water or something similar. It allows salt water and freshwater fish to be together. It's not really freshwater but it's not really salt water. The guy was trying it out. No one knows the long term effects yet.

Second to last post on the page.

WOW that thread was a crazy . Magic water seems pretty interesting at least the science behind it.

Blue let us know how the tank looks when you mix things up. You always have great tanks so i'm curious how you are going to reinvent this one.

I've lost track..
are we still posting picks? Or is it now a salt/freshwater fish discussion..or are we arguing over fake vs real... lol

Nice tanks!

We were kinda veering off track lol. Started with the fake fish post lol.

I'll comment on fake vs real tho...

I love the look of real plants, however I'm a monster fish keeper first, and redtail cats, red belly pacu, oscars, jags etc don't really mix with a planted aquarium lol. Neither do fake plants for that matter :)

My angelfish breeding operation however is going to get amazon swords in each breeder tank to make it more natural than the standard bare bottom idea...

I do have tons of anacharis tho, and love it.

wait no way that last one is a fake planted tank. If it is then all i can say is WOW.....

The drop checker on the left side makes me think it's def real but then again putting a drop checking in a fake planted tank is pretty awesome and would probably make your fake tank look more realistic.

lol. good point, never thought of it that way. Yes the last one is real plants. I just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention. Actually had to go back and look at the pictures as they are all old pics. First tank is all fake, second pic I think is actually mostly real now that I look at it, third is all fake ( and still set up and still one of my faves since it's so easy to keep clean) and yes last one is (was) my planted tank in its glory days.

I never had live plants until recently. I like the artificial plants because of the less maintance thing but I noticed when I used live plants, all of my fish swam thru the plants instead of around them. it seems to me that my fish like the live better than fake. That's why I switched to all live. I have one tank out of 6 that isn't doing well with live plants. I'm thinking of going with silk plants and see what happens.

here you go :) hope this helps

Here are some old pictures of my 20g long, and 29g long before i planted them.
