Tanks with Fake Plants

omg how does that work

This is just proof that spcies specific water parameters are not as important as everyone says. A fish can live and thrive in almost any water parameters as long as water quality is kept well.

You can slowly acclimate almost any fish to any condition as long as it is done correctly. Another point is captive bred fish are much easier to keep in a wide range of parameters compared to wild caught species.

My angels I breed are kept at 6.5PH but the babies are grown out in 7.5-7.8 but are slowly acclimated to that range. And before I get flamed, I do this because the retainers I sell to do not change their entire rack system to meet the needs of one species.

Check this out! No need for fake fish to put fresh and salt together! Haha a SW trigger with freshwater P Bass? Crazy!

This seems like a horrible idea and I can't imagine it being good for the health of either fish type. Is that tank fw or marine?

Molly I think it looks nice, until you get to the gravel..The plants look almost real with the picture you took. If that was a sand or something a little more natural looking that could pass for a real tank any day.
I know I hate that gravel but it was the only gravel I had and now I'm working on getting black sand :)

Here's a pic of my old 75g Cichlid tank that I had about 5 yrs ago.
All plastic plants with a JD, Firemouth and Salvini cichlid at the time.
This tank was so easy care for when compared to live planted tanks. I think I still have a box of some of those old fake plants stored away somewhere.

Actually Ive seen that picture before on MFK. The way it was done is there is a special water out that's called Magic water or something similar. It allows salt water and freshwater fish to be together. It's not really freshwater but it's not really salt water. The guy was trying it out. No one knows the long term effects yet.

Second to last post on the page.

Derision for anyone who doesn't go along with the herd, no matter how impractical, an air of superiority, trying to influence everyone to their way of thinking. The Plant People are a cult. ;)

I don't like the term "cult," too negative. I prefer to think of us as a very high society in the aquarium world. :raspberry:

But I do think that fake plants can work if arranged right.

I favor live plants over plastic ones, but I don't hate plastic ones. I actually rather have fake plants in a cichlid tank than spend money where it'll just go to waste because the fish eat them.

And so I'm not enbaresed by my fish tanks, here is them after cleaning:
First one is my planted 30gal tank, second one is my mixed 20gal tank.
