Tattooed fish made the local news.

My hope is if it gets more people into the hobby it's a good thing. If a kid comes in and sees a fish with a heart on it and says I want a fish tank and learns how to care for it, I think it's a win," says Lane[/url]

doesn't seem like promoting the hobby, sounds like tryin to make a sale. but if i was a business owner i guess i would try every angle to be successful. i hope this article will have the right effect on people and keep them away from tattoed fish. but making this around valentines day seems like an obvious promotion for he fish

i emailed the news site that did that story and sent them the link that malefic posted.. maybe theyll do a special on the companies who actually dye the fish.

oh boy...

If you go to the right of the bold title there is a video link to the story. You have to fill out a small questionaire to watch it though (only age and zip code if I think). In the video the store owners is very proud of the fact he is the only fish store in the area that sells these fish. They also talk about how the spca confiscated dyed chicks from that store in 2003, because it's illegal to dye a chicken. I also e-mailed the news station with the deathbydying link. Maybe if they get a big response they'll look deeper into the problem.

i saw a cory with an orange strip down it's back, and some fish with i heart u on their sides. seeing it in person made me wanna get punchy, nothin about it seemed natural or atractive, but not everyone has the same taste
