So I havent had a lot of experience in fish keeping but I have this baby betta, don't know if it's a girl or a boy but was sold to me as a male. Anyhow we just call the baby piggy right now. He's grown a noticeable amount in just the three weeks I've had him. When it's time to eat he's very insistent. And when I feel he's had enough he actual throws a little tantrum swimming across the top of his tank back and forth a swishing his tail.

Well tonight I was preparing shrimp for my family and dropped one down the disposal. Decided not to waste it and chopped it practically into a paste. I decided to see if he would eat it. He won't touch the frozen brine shrimp I bought him but he loves the Omega one pellets and freeze dried blood worms, he takes both from my finger.

So I put a tiny bit on my finger and he ate it up. We'll the next bit he was so excited to get he ran into my finger several times totally missing the shrimp. So then I decided to put it on the blunt end of a skewer and he ate three itsy bitsy pieces. I put the rest away. He was so upset there wasn't any more to be had he was poking the side of the tank where I feed him with his nose.

Craziest thing. I hope he will still eat the pellets. He has already tried to hold out for just worms but that's a treat too.
Anyway, it was cute to me. Any other funny fish stories out there? What kind of fish?

Many years ago we had a large common pleco that loved Tabimin. We thought his "blinking" was cute & taught him to "wink for a tabby". We had to cut him off after 2 per day but he definitely knew the trick after only a few tries.

That's cool. I didn't realize just how smart alot of fish are. I would've liked to see that. I don't know if I'll ever have a tank big enough for one of those guys. Wonder if all pleco are smart.

Oh thankyou, that will be entertaining I'm sure!

Today I switched out his/her coral cave with a chuck of driftwood.. it's seems to be super curious about all the nook and crazies and especially interested in the few hitch hiker snails I will have to remove tomorrow...
