I take the shower head off the shower hose in the bathtub, then I connect a longer hose with a spigot on the end, to the bathtub's shower hose and this is what I use to fill my tanks with. The end with the spigot is the end that the water comes out of into the tank.

The problems is that the water acts retarded when I do this. It only comes out either hot or cold. I've tried connecting it to the sink and the same thing happens.

Anyways, every time I fill my tanks, the more sensitive fish go into shock because I can't get the water temp right and I settle for cold instead of hot and it's horrible.

Does anybody have any ideas of what's wrong?

Well if you are changing water in the tanks that you have listed at the bottom of your post, the solution is easy! Get a 20 gallon trash can and mix you water in that! Get the ttemp right and a your decholinator before even thinking about adding it to your tank. a couple of degress up or down between the new water and the tank are fine. I do this on my 110 every week. I change 33 gallons (the capacity of the trash can). I take 33 gallons out, water my plants with it, and then mix the new water. 20 gallons of hose water to 12 gallons of hot tap water, add Prime and mix. I use a utility "power head" pump to pump the water from the can in to the tank. Let me know if you have questions!

lol.. acts retarded? lol Okay what you probably want to do is turn the faucet on hot water all the way for 5 minutes and then slowly turn to the colder side until it gets colder, and when you feel that it's okay, then okay. Temp should be around 70-76 ish is fine

if that method you are using doesnt work, then dont use it!!!! the other thing you could do is let the water run in to your sink till you get the right temp then put that into your tank!

brisk and invigorating isn't it lol

It's -1°F right now with the wind chill... I was just in Cancun a couple of weeks ago. It was so depressing to come home to this.

The trash can idea sounds like a lot of work.. I may have to end up doing that though. Letting the water run doesn't change the temp. I might have my dad look at it to see why it's doing that.
