That Pet Place

I have never ordered online from them, but I have gone there and bought plants. I have been very happy with them. They are strong and healthy and the prices are good. I also don't find very many(if any) snails on them.

I've only been their in person too..

It always seems that they have a better selection online compared with in the store itself (unless they lie about stock)

I should go down there sometime soon.. and their bargain blowout bonanza does start in a week or two..

They just have a better warehouse for their online shoppers. They dont ship items from their store, unless its live-stock. They have a separate warehouse for equipment and other things.

And yes, it is a very nice store to visit. I am lucky to live less than 4 miles away. You should take some time to come down and see it.

I've been down there plenty of times, it's maybe 2-2.5 hours each way though..

I'm thinking if they have good prices I'll go down there a week on Saturday.. if not I'll definately be down for the anniversary sale in April..

I did think that they shipped all plants and fish from the store itself.. I guess you learn something new each day.. I just refuse to pay tax and shipping.. it has to be one or the other.!

The thing that really keeps me from ordering is the shipping costs. I live in Ohio, and there aren't any good aquarium plant stores near or close to here. We have a Jacks and Petsmart - while both have good selections on fish varities, neither have real great choices on plants. A couple of Anubias varieties, anacharis, jungle vals/corkscrew vals, amazon swords, hornwort, and wisteria. That's about it.

The shipping for plants is 11.99, which does up the price a bit...but for ordering online and getting them in 2 days I'd say is reasonable. I know when I first started looking at plants online I couldn't believe the shipping prices, I didn't think I was going to be able to get plants at all.
I am like you there is nothing (but wal-mart) around me unless I drive 60miles then there is petsmart and a couple odd ball places. ;)

I ordered from them about a month ago. They had great service to the extent that they actually called me to tell me that the weather may be too cold for the plants to travel. They took great care in the packaging and placed heat packs in the fedex box. I believe they only offer FexEx 2 Day for plants.
