thay don't make them like thay used to (20 gallon)

Gotta love MetaFrames. A family friend gave me three of their 3 gallons this summer. All of them have very odd dimensions, but that's part of what makes them so cool! I have the widest one as my planted betta tank right now. Personally, I like to leave most of the slate bottom exposed, it's part of what makes them so unique and I want to show it off.

well finally got some time to work the tank. ive been knocking around an idea of using a RUGF hooked up to the 2211 so CO2 is dispersed from the substrate. i got the idea from this thread a little while ago and have been wanting to try it out. this wont be my only filtration method though as i plan to also use a eheim 2213 for the bulk of the filtering.

this is the i have to far and as you can see i jurry riged some stiff and still working on it.the only parts that will be glued to gether will be any parts out side of the water with makes this nice an easy to deal with.

also think i might abandon my pile of rocks idea because it's turning into a pain to find the right rocks for this tank. and if i ever find them i can rescape. instead the pet store i work at got in a new shipment of drift wood some of it's really nice so i picked up a piece.

no sure i'm satisfied with the placement and the piece might be overpowering so i'm going to work with it for a time.

well some updates got this filled up and planted but had to wait a while to get the lights. originally i was going to get a Nova extrema future through the pet store i work at so i would have gotten it at cost (what thay pay for it). but turns out there suply where out of stock so he ordered a T5 ho fixture that ZooMed apparently makes. it ended up costing about 56ish so really about the same as the fixtures at Fishneedit.

it's a big fixture and could probably hold 4 bulbs which is nice if i ever retro fit which will probably do later. also it came wire and a way to hand the light if you want which is nice. the only thing is you cant take the the thing you screw the wire into off the fixture but it's not bad but it would be nice to take them off.

and here is a full tank shot, still need to work on plants and where thay go. but this is whats in there now.

Polygonum sp. 'Sao Paolo'
Ludwigia Arcuta
Lobelia Cardinalis 'small form' (this will probably replace with something else not happy with it there)
Cryptocoryne parva
Poacease sp 'Purple Bamboo' (will move some where to the left)
Anubias nana petite (had to drain the tank and fix a leak so it all died off sadly)
Anubias sp (not sure what types got it from work)

also gotten a hydor 200 inline heater for 35 shipped so will be adding my first inhabitants (other than some crystal red shrimp that are in there) tomorrow.

I had same kind of aquarium in early seventies,1972 i recall. It was given to me by my uncle and started me into the fish keeping field. That tank brings back somw great memories.:flamed:
