The 75gal reef tank cycle has started!!!!!!!

::wheels in my head turning:: I could of configured the room so the tank was against that wall AND a couch in front of it AND room so you could add water, look in the fuge, adjust the heaters or anything else your little heart desires...but that would require moving furniture...maybe i'll do it one day when your not there...lol j/k

Yeah right you wont even carry a 5gal bucket of water to the car and your going to move a 400lb entertainment center?LOL yeah right!

yeah yeah! Yes Mistress may I have another? LOL

Update....

More toys and more critters. Well we did get out and get the Bio-Cube 8 tonight. I just got done setting it up and I'm now takin a break. I still have to put the salt in but Ashlee got the light timer all set. I have to say so far I really like the tank for an all in one type setup. It's pretty quit. I also got a couple crabs and Ashlee got a zoo colony. We don't have any pictures yet but maybe in a little while. The cabs I got are 1 Sally and 1 emerald. They are in the 75gal and are already eating everything they can get there claws on. We also got some hitch hikers. One of them is a small and I mean small crab. I'm not to sure what kind it is got we put it in the fuge to let it grow to see what it might be. Next is a very small Star fish. It looks like a brittle start of some sort. It has striped legs white and brown I think. He is so small it hard to see and I have great eyes. He is about the size of the top of a new eraser on a pencil. He is also in the fuge. Last so kind of snail. I think it is one of the ones I beleave Grins told me about. It is also very small and has a tiny shell. I think she said that they are good so he's/she's in the fuge also. i will try and get pictures as soon as I can but our house looks like a bomb hit it so I hav to pickup first.

If anyone has any idea about the Star,Crab or Snail please help me out. if there is any info that I haven't given yet that you might need to help let me know. I'll do my best to describe them.

I think the star is a kind of Serpent Star but the ones I have seen on the net only have 5 legs and this one hs 6. No one knows what this is?

That is why I'm asking but it seems like most people aren't talking tonight. It says there are 71 people looking at the Newbie section but no one is posting. Come on guys i need some help. I went to look for the Star but he is hiding. I need to know if I have to find him and take him out. I figure he can't do much in the fuge so I'm not that worry about him and he is so small how much could he do? I just want to know what he is.

Three of the four Snails we got are dead or dieing. One is fine and moving around doing what snails do. I don't know what is going on. Why would one be fine and the others be dieing?

Hope this helps.

Barred Brittlestars
However they appear to have 6 legs not 5 <some do have extras>. Could they be harmful to the fish at all? <Not likely. The big green brittlestar Ophiarachna incrassata is a notorious piscivore, the smaller species are not.>

Snails... just chalk it up to being normal. I had put in 20 snails in my tank at one point and within a few days almost 1/2 were dead.. and this was 3 years into my tank being setup. Some just don't seem to take to new environments as well as others. No big deal.. more food for the stars/shrimp. If it were the stars attacking, they would rip the snails out of the shells and eat them.. leaving just the shells behind.
