so explain to me how you are going to get the sw into the tank and out without affecting the water level ?
My guess would be let the overflow drain in a seperate bin ,and pump the new water in where the overflow was .
are you doing the 20gl all at once or at intervals?

hey thanks ,im worring about my first water change lol

oh and how many water changes with RO/DI will my tap water finally be gone ?

Very cool picture of the crab...

Wow, very nice pic of the emerald. Your camera skills are improving daily!

Thanks! I did take courses in college for photography. I'm just getting use to Ashkee's camera. She has a Konica minolta Dimage Z20. She has a tripod for it but it is still at her parents house. I want that for very clear FTS.

Stunning pics there of the crab....very nice indeed...

Thanks He was right up against the glass so it was easy to get real close.

We are going to this time put the trash can with the new water in it on a 5gal bucket to get it up higher then the sump. Then we are going to turn off the return and siphon the old water out of the display tank in to 4 5gal buckets so we can move them. Then we will turn the return on and siphon the new water out of the trash can and into the sump.

I think by the next time we have to do this we will have some kind of pump the transfer the new water.

I'm not sure sorry.

p.s love the crab ,he/she looks like the king of the tank lol

To tell you I like them both but as far as looks I like the Sally better then the Emerald. The Emerald has cleaned half the tank though. The Sally won't really come out. I have read a few things on the sally's but did see anything about them being nocturnal. Dose anyone know if they are or not?

Thank you very much. I like it and I'm glad all of you do. I really like having some thing so cool to take pictures of that is sitting in my house. I also love liking at all your pictures I think that helps the most in figuring out what we want to do with our setup. We have gotten so many ideas from you guys tat I figure maybe I can join in on the fun.

Thank you everybody I'm sure I'll have more later. Come back and check them out.

No, sallys are not nocturnal. They usually just sit under a ledge though and wait for food to pass by. They will climb around the rocks a little.. but they don't move around the tank like the emerald will.

You may want to start thinking about throwing a little food in the tank for them now if you haven't been.
