The 75gal reef tank cycle has started!!!!!!!

So what I got from that was it might drop it's crown to have the crown grow into another worm?

I've actually seen my hawaiian feather duster spawning. Nothing came of it since I only have one. They have different ways of reproducing, sometimes breaking in half and the tail end becoming a new worm.

Wow that's crazy. I wonder if it will. That would be cool.

I didn't get that out of the link. The dropping its crown is just something that happens from time to time and not to worry as they grow back.

As far as reproducing, it seems there are 2 ways depending on the species. One is the worm break its butt off and the mother grows a new butt and the butt grows a head/feather. The other way is spawning, releasing stuff into the water.

What I got out of that is, it is possible to have 2 featherdusters next to each other and if a spawning event happens they can reproduce. Or the other way is the butt end breaks off and the worm moves a little in the sand and replants itself and the broken off part left behind will grown into a whole new featherduster.

think I got it now. That's cool. It would be cool to have a bunch of those and maybe sell or trade them. Right now I hope we don't kill it. feel like a new dad or what a new dad would feel like with everything in the tank. I find myself making sure that the hermits are leaving the snails alone and the crabs leave the Coco alone. I check all the time to see if everyone is still alive. I watch each critter for a while to see if there acting strange. The sally was trying to dig out the worm a few times again today and I had to chase him away with a net. I think we might have to move the worm. The Sally doesn't really leave the rock work that he has taken as his home so I think if we just move him out from the rock work he will be fine. Now there was one hermit that was on the worms tube and I think he was eating the outer casing. Could/would a hermit try and eat all the way threw and go for the worm it self? Or would they just eat the dead outside like cleaning it?

OH yeah we saw the Boxer today and he has one claw that it broke but he had a glass nem in the other claw. It was very very tiny but you could see it. I guess that would be the only good use for them. LOL He is so small. I think he is a bit afraid to come out. I hope he will get more comfortable over time.

The Key hole Limpet snail has still not moved. I can see him moving his sucker thing and the shell but he is just sitting there.

I think that is everything I have seen. I have to say I love the tank. It is soon great to sit there and watch the life that is going on.

Thanks for all the post guys and for the help.
