The 75gal reef tank cycle has started!!!!!!!

With that lighting it looks like 2 completely separate tanks, especially with the overflow. Is that snail still on the glass? You are gonna need that small mini magfloat for the refugium pretty soon aren't you? Should start to get busy down there as well.
Yeah well I think I have a leak in the fuge some where. There is a salt creep coming from under it like the water is wicking under the tank from some where but I can't see where. So I'm going to have to take the sump out and reseal it. I'm not happy about this. What ever it is it's very small and very slow. At least I can take just the fuge out and don't have to remove the hole sump. The tank can still run and I just have to put the sand in a bucket while I fix the fuge. I wouldn't mind but a did a water test on the thing for a day and nothing. At least it happened now and not a year from now when everything is all growing.
As far as things going on in the fuge I think things are going to slow down for a while. I have run into a money issue so i think we are just going to use Ashlee's credit at the LFS and get the first few fish to put into QT and where done for now. I want everything to have a chance to settle down in the tank first also.
Everything seems to be doing fine in the DT and yes he is still there. I just took that picture. I don't know what he is doing.

Yeah that might be all we are going to do until the fish are ready to go in. We still have half the amount we need for this size tank and the then we still have to get some more for the fuge. We are trying to buy rocks that we like and not just get a bunch just to put rock in. We will be adding it bit by bit. I know it's not the best way but that's the way we are going to do it. We are on a tight budget so we have to go slower now.
Well that will give me time to catch up lol ............ maybe
AS im thinking i should get another 500 in LR if i put it in now then my cycle will start over again , it just looks so bare .

i thaught about trying to cure it in rubbermaid container but im afraid the dog will eat it ,i dont know why but she will do anything to get it when we bring it home lol.

I think it is because Ashlee is so good at aquascaping. Yeah I think we are just going to add one rock at a time. It will be like adding a new fish or so. then we will give it time to adjust then add another one.
I konw I tryed it the first night we got the rock while she was a sleep.
