The implants have started... It's a 'new world'...

I know what you mean, but that manner of thought causes a lot of problems. I used to think the same way as you EMG. And so when I read of pollution, and green house effect, overpopulation, etc. Well, it gets so overwhelming you feel a little lost.

But then you think about Revelations and a certain calm comes over you. Well it's all in "His" plans. We "know" what the end days are going to be. So why worry over all that stuff. We aren't going to wipe the ozone away and all life, including microbes, will be destroyed. We won't nuke the planet a hundred times over. Stars will fall, water turns to blood, yadda, yadda.

All of a sudden personal responsibility and even accountability for our well-intentioned but globally disasterous actions are swept away.

That is extremely dangerous.

I seriously believe that I am right on this matter. But I am open minded enough to admit that I can not know 100% that I am correct. Are you arrogant and close minded enough to say that you are?

I'm just saying lets cover all the odds and play safe. And not just sit back and say that we know that everything will turn out hunky dory whether we do anything or nothing at all.

I understand what your saying Watcher.....and I agree to a point, that it can be easy to fall into the "what ever will be, will be" sort of mindset when you are certain of the outcome.......

But...I happen to know that there are an awful lot of believers out on the battlegrounds of this world....rolling up thier sleeves and risking thier very lives giving aid comfort to those living in dangerous places around the world. My church supports a family of missionaries who are serving in Indonesia.

If "whatever will be, will be" were the driving force of my faith......you wouldn't see these people out there doing these things....or those of us here at home who can't go ourselves....wouldn't be going out of our way to support them.

Some of the very first people to respond after that awful tsunami were christians...who just "happen" to be there setting up shop just before that thing hit.....everything they needed in hurry...had just arrived days before that event.....within hours of the tsunami...they had shelters and medical aid setup and ready to serve those in need. They were there for a different reason....so they thought....

OH...and....personal accountability is a BIGGIE in my world....because the one I answer to knows EVERYTHING...and I can hide nothing from Him !! (Thank the living God for THAT ! )

And I AM certain of the hope that I cling to......I don't call that arrogance.....I call if Faith...not blind faith, but an educated faith. The kind of faith you gain by living and walking with the one who supplies all your needs day by day.

Oh gosh....I do hope I don't get THIS one locked up too !! (sorry OG...)

Yes, a lot of the people that responded to the tsunami were christian. A lot were muslim. A lot were agnostic/atheist. So what is the common denominator?

Obviously not belief. So that is no basis to make a stand on. That's no group of humans much less a specific religious group that holds a patent on that.

Humans responded to the tsunami. Regardless of location of birth, religious belief, age, etc.

Personal accountability in not disobeying the ten commandents, but still destroying the natural environment on Earth is not the same thing.

Spraying an ozone depleting aerosol is not a sin in any religion. But can destroy all life on Earth if not placed in check. I can make myself "right" with my religion and then ignore everything else, content in the fact that I'm all good. Taking responsibility for all of existence on our planet is a much greater burden. And can not be thrown away simply if I decide to subscribe to a dogma about how to secure a type of "good ending" to myself and those I care about.

That's called oblivious bliss.

That's good of you to support that family in Indonesia. I may disagree on a few things with you, EMG, but I can see clearly that you are a good hearted person, and I truly do appreciate that. Regardless of what any of us believe, we all need to try to make this world better and help people that are in dire straits. Lately, it just seems everyone everywhere has fallen on hard times. In a time like this, we all need to stop fighting over who's right or who's wrong and just be more loving towards eachother again.~Angela

Before I post my humble thoughts, I made sure the printer had paper.

What if the chip in your arm breaks? LOL :thud: Surgury to repair it? If something is going to break it will break and there is nothing you can do.

Watcher, I was answering to your reply about folks who don't do anything because they figure God will just take care of it all. I certainly know that Christians aren't the ONLY ones who are out there doing good things. But you seemed to be saying that we believe that's what we aught to do...so that is what I was referring to in my responce.

I will say this....there IS a truth out there about where we all came from and where we are all going......whether or not there IS life after death or NOT......the truth is out there to be found by those who really want to know.

Not all religions in the world have it all right, even Christianity has broken into many denominations because we can't all agree on all the "disputable matters" discussed in scripture..........because there is only ONE truth. You can't say that mohammad is right....and buddha is too....but, so is Jesus. None of these beliefs are consistance with each other...so not all of them are right...they can't be.

Personally, for me....I go on the evidence and character of the founder of each of these belief systems....and Jesus is the only one who NO one can or will say or can even find anything negative about....even by those who hate and abhore the faith that He represents. And this person, Jesus....said Himself....."I am the truth and the light...NOONE comes to the Father but by Me" He said those words Himself...so either He lied, or was crazy....or He was telling the truth. By the EVIDENCE of His works while here on this earth...I choose to believe that He was telling the truth.

My faith and belief is based on Jesus Himself, and what HE has told us and showed us about who He is and what He did while He was here, and why He did it...and what He has promised about what waits for those who trust in Him. I look at HIs example as foundation for what I believe. I don't look at the foolish things that people who profess to follow Him do...because we are NOT infallible...but HE is.

AND...haveing said all that.....we each make this choice for ourselves...I don't lord it over anyone who chooses to believe differently. Nobody can Force anyone else to believe anything.....God doesn't even do that ! So, I appologize if I offended anyone with anything I have said. But truley, no one should be offended, because I speak for myself. Some may agree, some may not...and that's ok.

And....I'm guessing that this about does it...and soon OG will step in and put a lock on this one too...........

Oh, goodness. Religion. I am agnostic. That being said, I still feel the microchip implants have too many positives outweighing the negatives. Especially when it comes to children. I want to share a story with you, that, in part, demonstrates why I am agnostic, but also why I think this technology is important.

When I was about 7 years old there was a little boy who lived nearby me, in Miami, FL. About 3 blocks away in fact. I went to school with him. We werent close friends, but he was in the same grade as I, and we had the same teacher a previous year. Anyway, one day his mother was in the department store and the boy disappeared. One minute he was there, and the next he was gone. They found his severed head in a canal, 16 days later, 120 miles away. Who knows what that poor child had to endure. The rest of his body was never found. The killer was never found. This department store was less then 8 miles from my house, and my mother shopped there also. The child who was murdered was Adam Walsh. That child, could've been me just as easily.

Its a sick world in which we live, and "devine plan" or not, that boy didnt deserve what happened to him! These chips could prevent that from happening, and thats why i support them fully.

How'd religion get into this? This isn't the mark of the beast, its a barcode on a grain of rice. Wasn't there a specific "666" reference in Revelations? Anyhow, I'm all for it .... as long as it doesn't itch !

I'd like to get an EZ Pass for the toll road & maybe a remote control for the TV too.
