The US has been on a course of teaching the masses only what they want them to know, for many, many decades. The censorship of the internet is no more more of an interest to the public at large, that the Constitution and American History currently are. The "I can't be bothered, I am too busy, I can't do anything about so I won't bother to vote" apathy is what Congress is counting on. The lobbyists and other PAC's own Congress. Of course Congress is going to vote according who pays them the most. It is only when our particular interests are jeopardized that we speak up as evidenced by those that stated "I don't care about FB but I do care about AC". People need to learn to care whether if affects them directly or not.
The US district court in Denver has upheld that Oklahoma does not have the right to block Sharia laws even though 70% of the voting public stated they don't want Sharia law as a judicial process. So, in all honesty, how many of you non-Oklahoma residents even care about it? These are the types of things shows how little the public cares when it isn't about them, and yet we allow our politicians and elected/appointed judicial representatives to counter the will of the majority to provide for a minority special interest.
