So, it's been a couple of years since I last kept fish, and a new friend got me interested in maybe converting my 20gal long frog tank into a brackish aquarium. I've always been interested in them, and I figured now might be a good time to get one up and running.

What would be a good stock for a brackish aquarium? I love livebearers, so I'd be interested in keeping mollies, and I'd love to do bumblebee gobies as well. Are those two fish compatible? How many could I keep in a 20gal? What other fish could I consider? For invertebrates, I believe amano shrimp and nerite snails can handle both fresh and salt, so could I keep some of those as well?

Last question. I am initially thinking about planning a 20gal, but I do also have an old 38gal tank sitting in the basement. I'm trying to keep things simple, but would it be better to just go bigger right away? Would that broaden my stocking options a lot? Thank you.

Upon further pondering, I did decide to go with the 38gal, as it would look nicer on the stand I have. Any ideas for stock?
