This has been one of the worst days of my life.

Im so sorry about all your plants and shrimp. Its at least good you were able to ask fast enough to save most of the fish though. Though Ive never had a failure quite like that, I have woken on two occasions to find a tank mostly empty. (one time only 2 inches left). Good luck with getting everything back up and running.. hope the fish arent in too bad of a situation right now.

Oh no! So sorry! :(

Are you going to contact the manufacturer? I think you are due some compensation...at least the face value of the tank...

I bet this wouldn't even be covered by homeowner's

Just another perspective coming from someone in the construction trade....When you have that much water which ends up on the floor like that, the carpets soak some of it up obviously along with the padding under the carpets...but much of that water sits on the wood subfloor if you have a house with a wood subfloor (not as big an issue on a slab floor). Anyway, along with sucking up the water (hopefully you rented a commercial vacuum to suck up all the water), you should be concerned with the possibility of the water causing mold issues if you have a wood subfloor. I would seriously check out pulling back the carpet and renting a commercial de-humidifier/dryer to dry your subfloor. Otherwise you could end up with the floorboards bowing, or growing mold/bacteria/mildew. Just looking out for you and your family. Molds can make people seriously sick, especially when the water in question is teaming with bacteria/algae already, like our fish tanks are. Sorry about your loss, and wish you the best.

That's totally awful. My 125 is basically made the same way as your tank. Going to check all of the joints now...

Oh Jacki, I am so so sorry :( I know how much work and heart you put into your tanks! At least you were home and were able to save what you could. Imagine if that wouldk have happened while you were at work! Your fish! Your shrimp! Your floors! :(

Make sure you post up what you lost. I will probably have something I can kick towards to the rebuild Jacki's tank effort!!!

Again, so sorry this happened :(

I was able to save all of my sabwas! As I caught shrimp I just dumped them in the 20G shrimp tank which is directly below it so I am not sure how many I lost. I did find one little amano body. I can't believe I would cry over shrimp but I am so sad.

Well, I live in a mobile home and I just have an area rug in my living room. I caught a lot of the water in 5 gallon buckets (thank you Home Depot!) and mopped the rest up with towels. It is nice weather here so hopefully the floors will dry. I am thinking of getting some fans to blow under the mobile. Thank you for your concern. I wouldn't even have thought of the mold angle.
