This week's game of Stock That Tank!

What are the dimensions of that tank? It looks like a 15g to me, it's at least a 10. As for stockage, if it turns out to be a 15g, I'd put some your furcatas in there with either 4 scarlet badis or 4 sparkling gouramis.

Or you could fill it with sparklers and scarlet badis. Either way ;)

Hmm?

It's almost 10 gallons. I had originally calculated ~ 7 gallons, but that was UK gallons, not US gallons. It looks bigger because it's 24" long. I built it myself specifically for a desk so while it's 24" long, its only 9" wide by 10" high. Also, for the record, the pics of the cardinals are from my 20XH at home where they currently reside

Tank is on desk. Plants are in, water is in, brouoght in heater and filter today. My question is..how long can the filter go before I have to worry about losing bacteria? I don't really want to dump in food while I wait because even after an alum dip there are a couple of snail stragglers that I would rather not have the population explode.

Also ( yes I know it's small) but how would a couple of upside down catfish do ( see earlier posts for dimension). obviously they couldn't grow old in the tank, but for a while?

I'd just pick something that can live in the tank it's whole life rather than worrying about when I need to move it.

I vote Endlers.

I have endlers in a tank at home that I had originally bought to go into this tank. The original plan was endlers and a Betta ( sorry if this is repeating earlier posts). The thing is, there is an older guy I work with who used to have an aquarium and is now living vicariously through me lol. Every day he has come in and asked " How long until..water? How long until fish? It's like watching a kid at christmas. He is really fond of the upsidedown cats. I started thinking that I have my tanks at home to play with and enjoy and he does enough for me that if I an stock this one to make him happy then why not? Hence the reason about the upside down catfish..even though I know it's not an ideal long term thing (once they start to outgrow it I can simply take them home one night to my 33 or g/f's 90)

You know, after having them a few days, I think you should get pygmy cories. They're great looking, and would probably look nice with some badis

For now my main concern is how long I can leave the tank empty before I lose the BB in the filter (it's from a stocked tank at home) as I don't want to run into a situation of have to cycle all over again

I thought I read somewhere that the bacteria start to die off after about 24 hours without a food source.

Thought I would add a couple of updated pictures
