Tiger Barbs

those feelers make for a nice target for the barbs tho..gouramis are not built for speed..tigerbarbs are very manueverable..they use this to their advantage.

It relates to the question ChilDawg. Bttas can be nippy too, especially when they HATE long fins like tiger barbs and can be nippy with long finned fishes. It's called COMPARISON, have you heard of it?

I've found that on many compatability charts, barbs and gouramis get along if the barbs are in groups.

Please stay on the OP's topic, completely, or don't post.

Thanks.

My barbs behave. I've had barbs for over three years. I think it depends on the barb. I'm not afraid to put different types of fish in with mine.

I have 2 green barbs and 1 tiger barb in with a bunch of danios and 2 platys. They get along just fine. The barbs swim among the danios and have never showed agression towards the other fish.

I'll say it again--tigers are well-known in aquarium circles for nipping the pectoral threadfins of gouramis. Why chance it?

A gourami might be too tempting. I've never tried it.

Below is what i have in my tank,i've never had any problems, the red tail shark isn't a morning person and tends to chase the barbs around, but i'm sure they tag team him!
Also the shark seems to get on really well with the loaches.
