I've had bad experiences with anacharis in the past. It always seems to rot away to a bare stem. But then again, this was in very poor lighting conditions.
This time I've got about 1.3 watts per gallon, and I'm dosing with Excel. When I got my bunches of anacharis home, I untied the metal weights and re-wrapped them very loosely, tight enough to hold the bunch together but not so tight that the stems are squashed. Then I stuck them in the gravel, or anchored them against the side of the tank with rocks.
I know that anacharis is supposed to be an easy beginner plant, but I'm wondering, is there some other trick to keeping it alive that I'm missing? I like the way my new bunches look, and I don't want them to rot away like my past anacharis have done.
Thanks!
