To shoot or not to shoot

The original poster was having a problem with a heron so he was asking for advice. If you look at the date I would assume he or she has already figured out what to do to solve the problem. Anyway, just get a dog and you will not have to consider killing anything. Problem solved.

whoever said shoot it obviously doesnt know about wild game laws. herons are a protected species and you should be able to get help from a local wildlife relocator...unless you WANT to go to jail.
