Tokay geckos

I think they are great as they get to be almost if not a full foot long. They are also beautiful when young. However I'm not a great fan of the red/purple spots when old. Thats why someday I will own a colony of female vipers and a male.

when you say colony...

iv actually seen feral tokays in dade. i wouldnt be suprised if they started poping up here, this one petstore has 10 or so just running around

Well they normally have a feisty attitude but personalities can be different between individuals. I use to have a breeding pair and I was able to hatch a few eggs from the two. Unfortunately I didn’t keep the babies very long. But if you were to buy a young captive breed baby you could probably get it use to you to the point where it would be calm around your presence and wouldn‘t bite the crap out of you.

hmm now to find some babies....... unless i find something cooler......are they very active?

Check out Kingsnake.com for captive bred babies. Well they are nocturnal so unless you're a night owl, they aren't very active.

ideas on what is? also the tank i will be keeping whatever i do get will be 48 gallons.......is that big enough for a chamealeon?

Sorry, but most chams don't do well in glass aquariums. They need lots of ventilation so you would want a mesh cage with screen sides for proper airflow. Now you can keep dwarf chameleons in glass tanks but they aren't very hardy and are wild caught. You could probably keep a Mountain Horned Dragon in that size tank. You could also do a pair of crested geckos.

nah. we didnt go to the sale today so i didnt pickup the tank.

they sure are expensive tho.....or at least for the colored ones that i like...
