Too many Malaysian Trumpet Snails...what to do???

They are but the little baby ones are fairly easy to squish. Big ones would be darn near impossible.

assassins have them and they will wipe out mts eventually, i have to replenish mts in the tank they are in every now and again,.. lol

A Big Farm Hammer lol :D

and i still want an explantion about the common pleco lol

I find a hard plastic container and a screw driver held upside down works. Just press the screw driver handle down until you hear a crunch. Tends to turn most of them into a fish food paste. The lucky few survivors get to return and warn the others what happens when you leave the substrate. :evil_lol:

A hammer works, but tends to upset people who are opposed to snails guts splattered all over the place (some people are just too picky about decorating style).

I have a tank where the substrate is basically moving all the time with MTS.....I just siphon them out with the Python to the flower bed.

i dont think id really mind an infestation of MTS. They have alot of benefits.

Wait until your substrate looks alive, and when you first turn the lights on in the morning, and the glass is covered in mts. Then let us know if you would mind.

A pinch is not the same for everyone!

Feed what your fish can consume in about a minute. If it is hitting the bottom cut back a little. Over a week or so watch the stomaches of your fish, if they pinch in you may need to feed more. Keep in mind if you are overfeeding now, your fish may be fat so don't think that they are starving because they lost a little weight.

Although loaches will eat snails they will certainly pound your shrimp collection too. Assassin snails will work but you will need a bunch to take care of MTS. MTS can easily outbreed a couple of assassins!
