tried the fluorescent miny bulb conversion on 1 side of my 55g used 13 watt 60 watt replacement bulbs looks yellow and crappy they are 900 lumens any ideas?:wall:

Do you know what K rating they are?

You are using a low K rating. You need to get 6500k CFL's. Wal-Mart sells them 2 for $7, made by GE. Under the name "Daylight", sold in many different wattages.

At Home Depot, they sell Phillips brand, which are 5500k.

Are all of them 5500k? MG told me there are 6700k ones there too.

you were talking about t8 bulbs. this is power compact bulbs.

Try higher wattage, 23w would work very well.
