Trolls

After looking threw most treads I have come to a conclusion. People are pooking at the fact Im 13. One guy mentions suicide, which is more or less pusing it overbored. Not to say that I have never dont that either.

So if 13 relates to beeing dumb, and suicide
14-20 relates do beeing drunk
20-30 Bad driving
30-50 Working
50+ Beeing really smart, the kings and queens of the world

I dont think so!
 
They do a great job- there are a lot of posts every day here and it's difficult, I imagine, to keep up with all of them. I would just stick with reporting bad posts and counting on them to take care of it. Obviously the people in question on freshwater are just jerky- nothing you say is going to calm them down or make them behave.
 
I hate threads with titles like this. Trolls feed on attention, and are best left alone under their bridges.

So, I wander over into FW, where I don't actually moderate, and find a thread in which people offer advice, are ignored, and then a snit ensues. Do I see trolling? No. I see a difference in opinion that was fanned into a flame war because people on both sides didn't keep a sense of perspective.

If you offer advice and it is ignored, move on. If you ask for advice and then ignore it, then ask yourself why you are bothering.

What I have learned in my years of participating on these boards is that a light touch is almost always the most effective. Tackling people head on just leads to bad feelings, and is usually highly ineffective.

Can we all relax a little now and go back to fish?

I argee. In the overstocking tread it could of just ended on page 1, but no. Someone had to step in a fight back.
 
Kas, even though you are just the young age of 13, you are every bit as valuable as people older than yourself when it comes to sharing your knowledge about fishkeeping. If people want to rant about your age that is their problem not yours. As far as your spelling, I have a 13 year old son thats spells the same as you and it doesn't interest him enough to want to learn to spell any better. No need with todays technology. Obviously fishkeeping is high on your list of interests cause you certainly have a wealth of knowledge on the subject. And that is the key to life...if it interests you, you will never get tired of learning something new. Smile and have a good day. :)

Not trying to be unkind but I have run into a couple of these threads and you really need to just walk away from these disputes. They're not productive. It was very wrong of the one member to attack your spelling, that was jerky, but don't further the fight, it clutters up the board and makes things harder for the people here who are trying to learn.
 
it shouldn't. for one thing, it puts you on a lower level. And second, it wastes everyone's time. It wastes the poster who is just wanting to share something or looking for an answer to a question's time. It wastes the time of the people who are trying to answer the question, and it wastes your time when you have so much knowledge that you could be using to help others. If you want to persue a personal problem, take it up in a PM. A family friendly message board is no place for an " all out war."
