Tronic Heater

Can the heater be placed under water? It has a max. water line.

I have a Tronic in my 5 at work. It's submerged, and worked just fine for 3-4 years--this past summer killed it because the AC blasted all summer (it would get down to 59 in my office), forcing the heater to run almost 24/7 for 3 months. But, before the summer of ice, it worked just fine, completely submerged. Often, that's a minimum water level--meaning no more than that amount of the heater should be exposed.

But there is a min. and a max. water line. The person a my LFS said it can be placed under water. Whats going on? It also is not heating my tank. I have it set for 85F just to keep my tank at 72F.

what is the wattage of your heater

it may be not be enough to heat your tank

It isd heating your tank just fine, the only thing that is wrong is the thermostat in the heater thinks it is warmer than it acually is.

I excanged it for a Ebo-Jager. Can this one be placed under water?
