Live Free or Die, Just Don't Keep Native Fish! Put that on your license plates!

It is a bluegil.....bluegil are everywhere and anywhere. Pretty sure every body of water in the USA has them. Stop harassing this guy.

I'm a lady, and all but the Goldfish found a free home in a 300gal tank. Turtle will be in a 150g with another turtle. So, thanks anyway.

But if anyone wants a special needs goldfish for pond or tank, let me know. He's in a 40breeder now. I was told he spent his early life in a 30g or something with a few other goldfish. All but him died, he was moved to the 5gal I got with him, water rarely changed. So when I got him, I changed the water and once the big fish found a home, I moved him to the 40g. He's doing well, he's ugly, but healthy now.

Seems pretty silly to be legally able to kill and eat a non-dangerous fish but not keep it as a pet wouldn't you all agree? I know here in PA once a fish is legally taken (proper licensing, seasons and bag limits, size etc.) as long as you don't try to sell it the state doesn't care what you do with it.
Consider this. Crayfish. Crayfish were illegally introduced into AZ streams and lakes and now they have taken over. They basically strip waterways of all vegetation and wipe out fish spawns.. They were introduced as bait..

Apples and oranges! I'm talking about catching and keeping as a pet a native fish which is supposed to be where it is when I catch it. Any law which prohibits this assumes that I will re-introduce the animal. I would expect a state whose motto is "Live Free or Die" wouldn't be so eager to ignore a concept as basic as "innocent until proven guilty". Oh well things will get better there.

My point is that generally when one is done "keeping it" they generally drop it in the first body of water they find because they can not simply toss "Spike" in the dumpster..

it is a slippery slope..

Having said that, I have kept native species tanks..
