what type of set-up are you interested in. planted, caves ,brackish, night tank(knife fish,catfish/nocturnal). or are you more interested in an interesting fish and then create the tank to suit it?

hi thank you for responding,I'm looking for a nice beautiful fish that's not the size of a dime but also not the size of a car lol,my tank is 15.6 gallons and I love bright colors like the Blue-Eyed Cichlid they are absolutly beautiful but can they thrive in a 15.6 gallon tank and can there be 2 of them? And yes I'd love to get my fish and then add to the tank to beautify them not so much the tank,I'd like to make there surroundings as natrual as possible for them,I'm really liking the Blue-Eyed Cichlid,do you know where I can find some good information on them as to what type of surroundings they like?and wether 2 can live in a 15.6 gallon aqua?
Thanks Bunches

blue eyes

sorry but not too familiar with this fish iam sure it is a buty ful fish. do you know if the bl eye is southamerican, central american or african?

i hve had more succes with central american than probably anyother maybe because my water is a little hard . the only central am cichlids ive kept are convicts, firemouths, port cichlid. is the blue eye a type of acara? my brother has kept both the blue and brown acara and they are nice fish.

i just looked at the site you were at and saw the fish . if that is your fish and it is central am you have a nice fish. as far as the care of it i'd just use declorinated tap water and do a 10% water change weekly. maybe some plants also to help keep the nitrates low

i always provide rockwork for my central am fish(cichlids). they seem more comfortable when given cave-like areas to retreat to. also being a teritorial fish and a substrate spawner it is their instinct to dominate a good nest site . i dont know if youve kept these kind before just trying to offer helpful advice .
