Underwater adhesive that actually works....

I have never tried to glue anything underwater. Does that really work Khemul?

Yep. It is a mad dash, and usually looks a little off, but it does work. The stuff starts to dry instanty underwater so it is basically a matter of knowing exactly where you want it. It also tends to take on a bright white color which stands out quite a bit until the tank reclaims it.

I do it sometimes to reinforce frags. Glue the bottom, stick it in. Then use up the rest of the tube coating the perimeter. My invertibrates have a reputation for wrecking anything that is not excessively bolted down (and even then...just lost some clove polyps because the rock they were on was weakly attached to the rock I glued down. Someone walked across it and it vanished into the rockwork).

Not sure about a overly tame fish eating the stuff though. Mine are pretty good about keeping away when I'm doing work.

Good thing, my fish are relatively new arrivals and are still a bit skittish just seeing me approach the tank. So that won't be a problem.

Just to clarify - it's not about having to apply the glue to the rics under water, I know they're fine for coming into the air. The only problem is that my live rock is all large pieces and completely set up as I like it, so I can't do the actual bonding out of the water. The idea is to get the glue on the frag, put it in the water and set it in place.

Is super glue a brand of its own or should I be looking for a particular brand? Do I need to turn off my skimmer for a while?

nice to know that method works, though I'd only attempt it in one of my tanks, pretty sure I'd never get the frag where i want it while being bit by clownfish or cleaner shrimp.
