Update (marineland heater failures)

I have the same problem with the heaters. I went thru and replaced a bunch with other heaters. I did buy a stealth with the light to keep running in my 75g (I have two running now cuz the one NEW stealth crapped out totally:pc: ) so I'll see how that one goes. I'm very disappointed with the heaters and won't be buying them anymore.

Ed I did get my eheim jager 300W heaters and am very pleased with them!

Just placed one 300W jager in my discus tank the other night. Removed an older 300W visitherm deluxe (will keep as a spare) and one of the new 300W visitherm deluxes (to send back to marineland). So now there is just one 300W jager. Room temp is 66.8 and tank temp is holding steady at 85.1. Couldn't be happier with that! Packed up all my new marineland heaters and sent them back as discussed with one of their managers a few weeks ago.

on the flip side

I had already purchased a few of the new stealth and visi therms.

one has failed to keep temp steady(fluctuates)

but three are rock solid(2 of them new steaths, one a visi therm deluxe)
the dials are even with in 2 degrees of the correct temp.:omg:

yeah i have one of the new 250w ML stealths with the light and even though the dial is a lil off i really like it so far.... the tank temp has been very stable

I had one stick in the off position. I noticed it before the tank got way cold. I wrote Marineland. They wrote back asking for the code # on the cap, and my address & phone #. I sent this information. Two days later I get a email

Hello,
I am sorry for the trouble. We will get that replaced for you ASAP. Have a great day!
Regards,
Marineland

Now just what that means I'll have to wait and see.

I've been replacing my dead heaters of various brands with both the old style and newer model stealth heaters for months, and still have one NIB waiting to be used. No problems with any of them so far, either temp/dial variances or on/off malfunctions.

I have 2 300W Jager heaters in my tank, and have been extremely happy with them. No problems what so ever.
