found this cheap vase at Ikea the other day and got inspired to make an aquarium out of it. it's now at my work cubical with about 2 gallons of water and 3 neon tetras. thoughts?

happy fish keeping.

very impressive, your sense of design is excellent. The torquoise stones compliments the greenery very well.

I've been meaning to ask you about your other tank, with the lucky bamboos. Are those bamboos still holding up being totally submerged?

thanks phanmc. in the other tank, the bamboos are still holding up, but growth has stalled, with a bit of rot at the tip of the main stalk. i will have to raise them or replace them with taller ones. the main stalk has to be above water. other than that, everything else are growing nicely.

One of those "WalMart-Bettas-in-a-Cup" would love to make that vase a home! ......... :idea2:

hey thanks guys. yup, i am NEVER able to keep house plants for the life of me, lol...

the filter hangin' at the back is the nano filter by Red Sea. i almost made the mistake of ordering the black version, but the clear one looks great and compliments well with the look of the glass. very quiet also which is a plus in a working environment.

That is exactly what I need in my office!! I love it.

I agree and may follow the theme here at work.

very cool! :D I like the clean look.

thanks.

actually the betta idea has crossed my mind too, but my coworkers around the area have always complimented on the "cute little fishies" (their quote, not mine) that i decided to stay with them. i enjoy having them around, they help keep watch behind my back. :D j/k.
