they dont but there very accurate i have both at 79 and my temp gauge says 79.5

It's why I went with the Marineland Neptune line, I like to know when the heater is on since I tend to ignore the thermometer. I once accidentally turned the temperature up after cleaning some algae off the top of the heater. I noticed that the light seemed to have been on a long time, and sure enough, I'd upped the temperature to like 82 (from 76). If it weren't for the light, I wouldn't have known unless the fish cooked or the water felt too warm at next water change. That's just me though - I'm sure some people check their thermometer a couple times a day.

my vote goes to the Visi-Therm Stealth as well, i have 2 of them and both are extrememly accurate. and yeah, my only gripe is that it doesn't have an indicator light, but it does work so thats all that matters.

I have had my Ebo-Jager's for almost seven years without problems.

I had my money on Won Bros. titaniums, untill 3 of them died on me all about the same time. Im now using Stealth heaters, so far, so good

I just bought a stealth for the 45G tank I am setting up. problem is, with the 2x65W CF lights and the ambient temp of the room it seems as though the tank naturaly stays at 78-80* with no heater. I put the heater in there set at 78* for insurance, incase the room gets cold at night, but I wish I knew if it was ever even running at all - I cant since it doesnt have a light. Oh well.

I have to vote for the marineland / visi-therm stealth heaters myself. Not having a light doesn't bug me much and with the name stealth I'm guessing that marineland didn't put a light on them purposly. Oddly enough in the winter I can sometimes hear it turn on and off.

Thanks for pointing this out Hound. If you are by the tank it makes a noticable clicking noise when it turns on.

I can't hear it in my 20G because of my power filter and air pump, but i do hear it in my 10G. initially i thought it was my tank creaking

I honestly didnt know the stealth was so popular, I just recently got it since the all black look is appealing to me, and I can hide it right behind the intake thats the same all black on the odyssea built in filtration on my tank. Seems like just all black is the easiest to hide, especially with a planted tank and a black background.

I may have to continue getting these when I set up my big tank... but I was really liking the titanium heater that has the external digital temp display. Can't remember the brand on that one, just something I saw once.
