I have used many of the top brands, including Ebo, Tronic, Visitherm, etc. Out of all I have tried, I prefer the Tronics over any other.

anyone ever heard of a finnex or finex brand heater?

What is Hydor? I have hydro heaters and they are accurate and reliable thus far

as long as we're on the topic of heaters, how much watts do you think a 500 watt heater uses up over 24 hours? assuming it heats the water 4 degrees?

You should start a new thread for this... this is a several month old thread about a poll on the best heaters, so this is rather off topic here unless your giving your opinion on your favorite heater. But I dont know if your question could even be answered. There are so many variables, like the size and shape of the tank, surface area, wether or not your base is insulated (or back for that matter), thickness and type of aquarium walls, canopy, lighting, filtration, etc. etc. Perhaps there is some rule of thumb I dont know, or perhaps some have actually measured it??? I havent heard of any such things though.

I like both the Marineland Visi-therm Stealth and the Visi-therm Deluxe. I haven't seen stores selling the Deluxe version anymore, but personally I like that most. It's made out of glass, so it's not shatterproof like the Stealth, but it looks very clean and it has an on-off indicator light

Visi-therm Stealth here too. Used several brands, always liked the original visi-therm but the stealth is so...stealthy:) Now if they could make the darn knob black instead of insane red!!! Like we don't know how or where the dial knob is on a heater!:mad2: Thank God they didn't put an on/off light on it!!!

Visi-Therm Stealth. I agree with the light issue but they have been reliable and extremely accurate for me
